Precautions for replacing the rubber v belt in a car: For car owners who are familiar with machinery, they can replace the V-belt themselves, but the most difficult point is to adjust the tension of the belt. Too loose or too tight tension is not acceptable. The appropriate tension of the belt is determined by not slipping when dragging a certain torque. Improper maintenance, or improper installation due to lack of tools, worn pulley grooves, or worn belt edges are all causes of improper tension.
Therefore, to replace the car V-belt, the following steps should be followed:
1. Loosen the installation lock column and adjusting bolts, move the generator, and then remove the old V-belt;
2. Using a tension gauge to accurately measure the tension of a belt is not as accurate as using a finger pressure method. Because in modern engines, the tension of the belt is relatively high, that is, the pulley bears a larger tension, the distance between the belts is shorter, and the belt cross-section is smaller. Therefore, there is an error between the estimated tension based on intuition and the actual tension. Finger pressure method is a subjective measurement method that varies from person to person. When using the finger pressure method for measurement, different vehicle models have different requirements. Generally, it is required to press the belt with a force of 100N (10kg/f) to achieve a concave deformation of 8-12mm (deflection). But the deflection of the Xiali car is 5-7mm.
3. After embedding the V-belt into the wheel groove, move the generator and the parts on the generator body that are not easily pried off, and then tighten the adjustment bolts.
4. After running the belt for 15 to 20 minutes, make the belt fit the pulley groove, and the tension will be relaxed, so the belt needs to be re tightened. Because the belt is always in an extended state.
5. Ensure that the car and fan cannot be started when replacing the belt;
6. Place the new rubber v belt over the pulley. Do not use a screwdriver or pry bar to pry the belt onto the pulley, as this will lose tension and shorten the lifespan of the belt.
7. Refer to the repair guide, car manual, and instructions for using the V-belt product to select the appropriate tension.
